ABC Family Pediatricians

Becky Thomas-Creskoff, M.D., F.A.A.P.
Pediatrician

Why did you choose your profession?
“I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, and I realized quickly that working with children always makes things moreinteresting and fun. Even when children are sick, they and their families arefull of hope. That positivity always makes me remember how lucky I am that families involve me in their lives. I think our patients teach us a great deal, and I hope that we can help them grow into amazing, healthy people.”

What innovations in medicine excite you the
most?

“I always have had a special interest in growth and development, which is a key element of pediatric care. Thereareso many issues over a child’s lifetime related to puberty, growth spurts and weight, just to name a few. I feel that discussing and working with these topics
can really affect patients’ health over their lifetime. This interest has led me to get involved in research in endocrinology in the past, and I feel like now I deal with these issues for patients every day.”

Are you from this area?
“I grew up in Berks County, and since then have been all over Pennsylvania before coming back to the area. I am very excited to be closer to home and my family, and yet still close to Philadelphia, Doylestown and State College, where I have lived and worked in the past. My husband recently joined the Allentown School District, so we are both excited to get involved with life in the Lehigh Valley.”

What do you do in your spare time?
“I have grown up a Philadelphia sports fan, so although it often can be heartbreaking, I spend free time rooting for my home teams and watching a lot of local sports. I also love to cook as long as I find someone else to clean up after me!”
