Michael Schwartz, M.D.
Pediatrician
Why did you become a pediatrician?
I have always loved working with children, and was very interested in science. In fact, I went to
medical school at the University of Pennsylvania because of its association with The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I have known I wanted to be a pediatrician since high school.
How is ABC Family Pediatricians different from other pediatric practices?
I am the sole pediatrician in my practice, which appeals to those families who like to come to a
small practice. But I’m also part of the ABC Family Pediatricians group, so those same families
have evening, weekend and holiday care for their children, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
What do you do in your spare time?
I am a husband and the father of two teenage children. I am an avid runner, cyclist, tennis player
and lacrosse coach.
What's the most important advice you can give to moms and dads?
Love your children, be good to each other. Wear seat belts and use car seats. Don't smoke. Vaccinate
your children. And breastfeed if you can.
